Cup Final Information

Saturday 5th December 2015

Welcome to Beauchamp Middle School, Bedford

We are pleased to welcome all athletes, teachers, officials and spectators for the 2015 English Schools’ Athletics Association Schools’ Cross Country Cup Finals.

The competition is for Junior (under 14) and Intermediate (under 16) age groups. The local rounds of this competition started in October, with nearly 1500 teams from over 500 schools throughout England competing against other local schools in their County. The leading teams from the competitions held in each County then compete in one of 8 Regional finals in the first weeks of November. The National Final pits the leading 3 teams in each agegroup in each Region against each other.

Teams comprise 6 athletes with the first 4 runners counting towards the points total. In the event of a tie on points, the team whose 4th runner finishes higher takes precedence.

Teachers: if any of your teams finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in your Regional Final, you MUST pick up an envelope from the registration team BEFORE you leave your Regional Final. That envelope will contain a great deal of essential information for you.
