Saturday 16th March 2013

Travel Instructions

Access for Teams and Spectators

We have been advised by all the regulatory authorities that all championship traffic must follow the Catton Park directions and details outlined below:

  • Traffic from all directions must make their way to A38 connecting Derbyshire and Staffordshire.

  • Traffic should not access the site from the B5016 as there is a bridge width restriction of 7’6” (2.28m).

  • All traffic must exit the A38 at the Alrewas junction, signposted A513 to Tamworth. You must enter Catton Park from the A513 due to the bridge restrictions and the athlete disembarkation plans in place.

  • Double decker buses will not have access to the site from the A513 due to a bridge height restriction of 13’9” (4.19m). If double decker buses are being booked, please contact the event organising committee.

  • Satellite navigation should not be used beyond the directions to the A38. Event signage will be in place from the Alrewas junction on A38.

Parking

Car parking will be on fields adjacent to the course. Car parking is £5 per car and will include a complimentary programme.

Disabled Access

There is very limited space for disabled parking on a small hard-standing area near the start/finish. Blue Badge holders were asked to contact the ESAA to request a pass, but it is now too late to issue these, and all the available space has already been over-booked. However, the parking marshals will endeavour to assist anyone who needs help.

If you look at the course map on the event details page, the track running from the road to point 'M' is a rough uphill farm track - wheelchairs could possibly use that, but with some difficulty. The course is rough undulating pasture land, so wheelchair access to other areas would be very difficult.
