The ESAA Combined Events are held over two rounds. The Regional rounds are normally held on the fourth weekend in June - there are 6 regions in the UK. The Final is normally held on the 3rd Saturday in September and the day after.

Race Walk Championships are held at the same time as the Combined Events - athletes are entered individually by County Secretaries.

Athletes wishing to be considered for selection are normally already well known to the County Associations, but others who wish to be considered for County Team select who are not already in contact with their County Association should contact the ESAA using the contact the ESAA form on the home page.

Combined Events teams can have 4 athletes. The results are worked out by adding the points totals of the leading 3 athletes in the team. At the Regional rounds, the highest scoring County team goes through to the Final, plus the two highest scoring individuals not otherwise in a team. Additionally, the 6 highest scoring athletes from across the Country who are not otherwise included will also qualify for the National Final, making a total of 42 athletes in each age group Final.

In cases where qualifying athletes can't attend the Final, the next highest scoring athletes from across the Country will be invited to compete.

With 252 athletes at the Combined Events Final, each doing from 5 to 10 events, the two days of competition provide an amazing spectator experience.

Past ESAA Champions, and record holders, include Daley Thompson (Olympic Gold Medallist), and Dean Macey (World Championships Silver Medallist).

The current ESAA best performance by Liam Ramsay beats both their former ESAA records!
